Who Should Attend?        The First Aid at Work training course provides the learner with a                                                                  comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most                                                            workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. This course gives                                                    the learner both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid                                                                  emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with                                                              Health and Safety (First  Aid) regulations.

Pre-requisites:                   Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). So                                                         whilst we are often able to provide support to people who for example                                                   do  not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by                                                   the  time available and the number of people who require assistance.

What will you learn?         The course will teach learners how to deal with each of the following:

                                            Ø  Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
                                            Ø  Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
                                            Ø  Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
                                            Ø  Wounds and bleeding
                                            Ø  Shock
                                            Ø  Minor injuries
                                            Ø  Choking
                                            Ø  Severe burns and scalds
                                            Ø  Preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use                                                    of available equipment
                                            Ø  Fractures
                                            Ø  Sprains and strains
                                            Ø  Spinal injuries
                                            Ø  Chest injuries
                                            Ø  Eye injuries
                                            Ø  Poisoning
                                            Ø  Anaphylaxis
                                            Ø  Heart attack
                                            Ø  Stroke
                                            Ø  Epilepsy
                                            Ø  Asthma
                                            Ø  Diabetes

Certification                       Throughout the course learners will be under continuous observation                                                      by the trainer and written assessments are carried out at the end of day                                                  one & day three. Successful learners shall receive a Qualsafe Awards                                                        certificate that is  valid for 3 years.
Who are Qualsafe?           Qualsafe are the UK’s largest awarding organisation for First Aid & as                                                       such is the most widely recognisable & trusted name employers look                                                         for.  Qualsafe are approved as an awarding organisation by Ofqual, the                                                   Office of  Qualifications & Examinations Regulation.
